I bought these as my first wedge set and chose 50,54,58 lofts. I wanted them quickly for an upcoming golf trip to Spain. I had been looking at the Lazrus set for £189 but they were out of stock. I saw the Yamato full face wedges which looked very similar on offer at £112 (also free delivery from the USA). I took a punt with the view it’s not a massive financial risk and how bad could they be compared to my current set. They actually arrived 90mins before I had to head to the airport so quickly in the bag and away. I have to say they felt great from the 1st shot. They have nice midsize grips and are heavier than my old wedges which gave me the confidence to swing easy and let the club do the work. I don’t normally see any check on my pitch/chip shots but all of a sudden there it was. Yes they are black and will mark but for the price I don’t mind. They seem to be very good quality. I’m not sure if they are forged like the Lazrus set but as the grooves and milling look identical they may be. As an 18hcp player I’m not yet good enough to notice any forged benefits. I’m very impressed so you may be too.

Absolutely awesome for the money. The look of these are really good, very sharp looking. They are unexpectedly heavy when holding them but feel great through the swing. Shafts are fine, don’t seem to be any issues when I hit them today, but the grips are awesome. Mine came in standard which I might change to midsize down the road but no need really with the quality grips they came with. Very easy and smooth around the chipping green, and absolutely feels flawless on regular swings, even for a mid-high handicapper like myself. Very impressed. Great job Yamato

These are nice wedges, they have insane spin capability but beware that they will eat up your balls. I should have taken a pic of the face after hitting a few, ball shavings were stuck in the grooves. The club pro told me they had illegal milling and would not be allowed in tournament use. That explains the crazy spin I was getting! I had to return them after my first and only test session on the practice hole. If you don’t care about that, put them in your bag. They do look really nice!

"Wedges So Good, Even My Sand Traps Are Scared!" I got the Yamato Full Face Golf Wedge Set, and now I’m officially a short game wizard (or at least I look like one). These clubs have more spin than my excuses for bad shots, and the milled face grips the ball like it owes them money. The first time I hit a flop shot with the 60-degree lob wedge, I swear I heard the ball whisper, "Wow, that was beautiful." The sand wedge practically laughs in the face of bunkers, and my gap wedge has me sticking approach shots like I actually know what I’m doing. If you want wedges that make you feel like a pro, even if your scorecard says otherwise, these are it. Now, if only they came with a built-in applause button for when I finally get up and down…

I’ve never been able to put back spin on a ball before buying these. I purchased the 52, 56, 60 degree set about 2 months ago and have played over 25 rounds with them now. The weight took some time to get used to, and I changed the grips to midsize as that’s what I prefer. Once I got used to the weight and changed the grip, I’ve never felt more confident with a club In my hands. I am able to get 8-10 feet worth of backspin with each wedge, which has taken 5+ strokes off of each round. I always struggled to stop the ball before using these, which left me with a ton of long putts, or even having to chip again from going long because of the ball running off of the back. With these wedges I can carry the flag by 5-10 feet and end up with a tap in due to the backspin and stopping ability that these provide. They are incredibly fun to use, feel amazing, and provide an insane value for the little money spent. If you are considering purchasing, I couldn’t recommend them enough. The performance is unmatched for the price!
